Seeing as though the weather here in Atlanta, is finally coming around to some beautiful Spring temperatures (here’s hoping it stays that way as well), I have to do my job as the Chief Pampered Sweet Tooth {PST} and spread a little frozen love to one my favorite indulgences…Gelato! Granted that there are some caloric and fat intake differences between Italian Gelato and American Ice cream and considering that I have consumed them both on several occasions, Gelato does it for me every time, hands down. I think that it may be the incorporation of air into ice cream, about 60% as opposed to gelato, at about 20%, resulting in a more dense and intensely flavored frozen treat.
QUICK SIDE NOTE (SN): When granted an opportunity to travel to Italy, I MUST take a tour of their Gelato Bars and award, by the Chief {PST} standards of course, a BEST GELATO IN ITALY SPATULAS DOWN title. O.k. enough infatuation with the idea of going to Italy…
One of my favorite places to go for gelato when traveling to Tampa, FL is in the International Plaza at Gelateria Del Duomo. The visually enticing presentation of the creamy frozen dessert (or breakfast, if you leave it up to me) lures you in, the team members assist with a tasting of your choice of flavors, and the rest falls upon you to purchase, as I know you will
I’ve yet to visit Paolo’s Gelato here in Atlanta, GA or the Gelato Bar at Whole Foods Market, but when I do (soon) I’ll of course share via blogging my indulgent experience.

I absolutely love Gelato. It's like an high-end art form or masterpiece of ice cream.
